A “strain of righteousness…”
Trump cruises in Iowa, but here’s why the left continues to flirt with civil war.
The blasphemy of Joe Biden invoking the memory of George Washington (whose name his party would like to remove from our schools) is bad enough. But what the demagogic octogenarian actually said on his January 5th ‘Valley Forge’ campaign kickoff speech was worse.
Calling former President Donald Trump a ‘dictator’ who’s “willing to sacrifice our democracy, put himself in power” wasn’t enough.1 He went on to accuse his likely opponent of staging an “insurrection” that eventually took the life of police officers.2 Again, the ones his own party has repeatedly attacked and defunded since the 2020 summer of BLM riots.3
This sort of projection—if Biden had his faculties—would normally be the sign of a sociopath.
Trump, of course, never ‘conspired’ with Q’Anon or anyone else on January 6th. Which is why he hasn’t been charged with ‘insurrection,’ ‘seditious conspiracy’ or even incitement. Rather, he’s being subjected to a chilling attempt at criminalizing your rival’s speech over what partisan prosecutors call “pervasive and destabilizing lies about election fraud."4
It matters little whether Trump was right or not, notwithstanding the 2020 ‘COVID-rules’ election was one the most irregular in history.5 In this ‘brave new Biden world,’ the wrong opinion can land you in jail. George Washington is turning over in his grave.
