Again.
A look at the troubling trend of political violence leads to disturbing conclusions.
Once again, more questions than answers. Another disturbed young man, right out of The Parallax View and brainwashed by self-righteous toxicity, seeks inexplicable vengeance.
Only this time, it appears, on the entire Trump administration gathered at the Washington ‘Hinckley’ Hilton for the White House Correspondents dinner.
Rather than point out the ‘security’ inconsistencies already being picked apart in the latest social media feeding frenzy, I’d rather point to what seems to be consistent in the behavior of those responsible for the obvious uptick in political violence.
That is, another seemingly bright twenty or thirty something male whose aimless ambition swells in his parent’s basement until his desperation is exploited for nefarious political purposes. He plans his revenge on a world that has passed him by and ultimately opens fire on the targets he was endlessly assured were to blame. A perfunctory investigation does little to solve the mystery—let alone address the underlying societal causes or reveal manipulation by darker forces. The perp either shows up in court and says nothing or is already dead.
Case closed. All that’s left is for Jack Ruby to show up.
Lest you think I’m exaggerating things, here’s a quick timeline from the archives of Jason’s Newsletter (as subscribers you get access to past posts) that leaves little doubt that something is terribly amiss in the socio-political psyche these days.
I had already highlighted my own personal history with the myriad attacks on conservatives (see the Steve Scalise baseball practice shooting) during the first Trump term in Party Animal, The Truth About President Trump, Power Politics & the Partisan Press.
But in 2022, we posted Political Assassins, an update that would sadly become the first in a series chronicling more threats and violence. Next was an anniversary deep-dive into the longstanding mystery surrounding the tragic events of November 1963 in Dealey Plaza. The case that to this day set the standard for unsolved treachery.
Yet, from the Grassy Knoll to Butler to Orem, the media insisted on its own usual spin. And notwithstanding being firsthand witnesses last Saturday night, you can count on ‘journalists’ to start Circling The Wagons and bury the real story with asinine headlines.
And why not. They not only participated in a ‘deep state’ attempt to overthrow the will of the people by concocting the ‘Russian collusion’ hoax, they eagerly ran with every possible smear concocted by a corrupt Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). No wonder the media ignore how assassination attempts in Pennsylvania and Florida are a clear and present threat to democracy.
In 2025, Minnesota’s own self-inflicted ‘woke’ wounds came back in unspeakable ways as the violence spread. It took about a nanosecond for Governor Tim Walz, the architect of the state’s downfall, to blame Trump for the tragic murder of a former statehouse Speaker and her husband amid bizarre and conflicting circumstances surrounding what had taken place.
Even worse, the victims of Minnesota’s cultural rot extended beyond those responsible for it when Catholic school children were gunned down in the name of trans-ideology. There has yet to be an ounce of remorse by the so-called adults who spawned the movement there—they’re too busy running for the U.S. Senate.
And finally, last fall, Charlie Kirk led the last rally of his unfinished life. The conservative faith-based activist, himself a target of an SPLC smear campaign, was gunned down in front of a national audience. Yet the explanations of who pulled the trigger and why remain conspicuously unconvincing.
Starting to see a bit of a pattern here?
Looking over these cases, a pattern of mysterious complicity emerges. And after another ‘near miss,’ we are no closer to the truth of what or who is behind the dystopia that threatens anyone who speaks their mind.
It’s hard to believe, but a greater danger lurks. For if, in the minds of some, it is alright to take the life of those with whom they vehemently disagree, it is surely alright to assassinate the political leaders who represent them. Or just to nuke the entire country.
Try explaining that to your children sometime.

The times in which we live, huh? Those would-be/actual assassins live their lives in an echo chamber. They believe that if they can fulfill their objectives and take out the new re-embodiment of Hitler, that they'll be hailed as a national hero - ticker tape parade and all. And why wouldn't they? Reactions in those circles to the likes of Luigi Mangione, etc al, only serve to show the motivation behind the deed. Until we break up those circles, forcing those inside to be confronted with real truth, the way we all are confronted with real lies, convolution, & inveiglement on a daily basis, the trend will continue, if not worsen. (A reason why I hope you're film not only gets made, but gets watched.)
The tie you form with the deep state is even more disturbing. With the rise of it and its reaches, how can we ever know if the assailants are lone nuts or pushed patsies?
By the way, love how you fashioned your piece like an old-school sitcom clip show. It gave me a chuckle as I made the connection, even as it prompted me to go back and read some content that I had missed.
