The New McCarthyism
The targeting of political opponents by a warped Democrat/Media complex would make the demagogic Wisconsin Senator blush.
The rap against Donald Trump this week was familiar.
Apparently, his handling of classified documents was so cavalier that he waived around secret plans for attacking Iran to prove a point.1 No one in Washington raised an eyebrow over another war, but the episode, we were told, was more evidence that Trump is unsuited for the Presidency due to his ignorance of convention.
Let us stipulate that both charges are true. It doesn’t matter.
The first hardly makes Trump a spy (incredibly, he was charged with violating the antiquated Espionage Act) and the second doesn’t vitiate the American citizens’ right to choose their own leaders no matter the shortcomings (though that is precisely what’s at stake).2
Both, however, serve as a convenient pretext for a lawless administration to indict a former President for the first time in history as part of an ongoing scheme aided and abetted by state-run media to eliminate political adversaries by labeling them as treasonous.
‘Tail Gunner’ Joe McCarthy was an amateur compared to these guys.
